Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug that inappropriately recorded some scores for Scarred Psyche.
Whether other issues will pop up is something we will see as more people invest more time in the mission.

Yeah the bug wasn't fixed as 2 more teams have gotten bugged times of perfect 1800 since last night.

I played some when it first came out (with 7 heroes) and even managed to get 5th spot for a few moments, but now it's almost impossible to get on there anymore.
The other part that's very demotivating is seeing three teams take up 30 spots together (I counted heh). I know this is how it's always been, just like in rollerbeetle racing. But I tried it, it was fun for about an hour and it's already unrealistic to try and get on the list unless you have an 8 man team.

Ah well. The dialog is some of the funniest stuff I've read in GW, at least.

I do agree the top 100 now is literally a farce of the highest magnitude, im not even including those people who have a score of 1700+ which is obviously impossible either bugged/hacked etc.
What I cant really understand is why anet didnt apply the same "code" or "rules" they did for the top 100 rollerbeetle racing table. It is a bit silly now but hey what can we do, likelihood is it wont get fixed this year which is a shame since I think its quite fun doing.

In my opinion, I do not think prizes will be awarded for the top 100 because multiple people share a single score. With rollerbeetle, prize distribution is easy. One beetle goes to one person for his/her one score (disregarding multiple scores like it was before the leaderboard was fixed in later events). Obviously, the same distribution would not be possible with this challenge mission. A-net could surprise with prizes, but I don't think it is likely.

yep, its rollerbeetle racing all over again...a few manage to get the top spots (thru whatever means)...and the rest get......
well, depends on what you think of getting a few coins and possible a white drop mean to you.
was a novel idea for the few minutes

If you don't think of it as a challenge mission it's not so bad. The actual mechanics of the mission aren't really different from Thirsty River and the kind of gameplay and strategies aren't really different from repeatable quests like the DoA style ones from Wintersday. It's basically just a repeatable quest with a scoreboard and challenge mission style reward system tacked onto it.
It's fun for what it is, but it is pretty different from the traditional challenge missions (which are more about aggressive sustainable offence encompassing a wide range of builds and strategies rather than simply lucking out with defence while you spike a few targets abusing morale recharges).
The simple nature of challenge missions means for the vast majority of the community, it doesn't really matter whether this is a challenge mission or not - they are going to end up with around the same number of ToT bags with maybe a little bit less gold compared to if this was simply a repeatable quest (which it basically is) - only a handful of people are going to end up on the score boards, especially seeing as how formulaic and simple it is to get a high score. Without the bug it's basically reached a point where you can't get any more efficient. The gamer points addition is a nice touch, it's kinda like combining a bunch of titles together into one new and somewhat fun activity.
Too bad the challenge mission design is basically reducing everyone else's hard earned rewards based off of calculations from bugged victories.

All of the other challenge missions, other than rollerbeetle, are done in the same way. you can get as many high scores as you want in those cases. The difference for the rollerbeetle races is due to the reward received for having a high score at the end of the event.
I believe this challenge mission is been made purely for fun, not a rare item at the end.
I'm a little curious at how quickly Scarred Psyche as been broken considering it was available on the test server for testing. I have a feeling it was being tested to see if it worked, rather than testing to see how it breaks.

That was a single bug fix they mentioned, obviously there is more than one issue on this challenge mission that is affecting high scores.

They could have made the scoreboard display minutes and seconds as opposed to points. Nobody looking at the scoreboard will have the slightest idea of how to formulate their score, since the mission doesn't show points, just a clock ticking away.

Considering how failure prone this mission really is the rewards are awfully meager.

Can't honestly say im surprized... almost everything this team has added has rewarded people that exploit the game.... good mission...helps with pugging that everyone has set skills... poor reward system.... hopefully we will see this get corrected.

Is this it for content? Because it's pretty seriously bland unless you're one of the 10 greatest spergburger's in GW who wins every challenge mission.

I talked to one of the guys who got 1800. He has no idea what happend. Looks like a server-side bug. There's loads of issues during GvG too I've heard.
Everyone should try the mission at least once with a full hero party. Once you get the hang of it you can farm the mission under eight minutes easily. 200 ToT bags per hour PLUS gamer points and gold!

Boy, this would be a lovely way to make Gamer available year-round.
Haven't tried it yet, but after I grind out my UW quests (at 5 minutes each) and level up my Gamer rank, I'll for sure give it a whirl.

It's always nice to have something new, but I find it a bit boring 3 runs into it. I've only tried it with heroes so far, and haven't made a decent time yet, though I got a good reward for my first run on account of being online when it was launched and jumping in pretty early. The two runs I did later, hardly worth the effort.
It would've been more interesting to me if it didn't have a fixed build to play with. That takes away a lot of what GW is about for me. As it is now, this mission is just a matter of pressing a few buttons in the right order. It's not going to draw me away from costume brawl for very long.

I'm relieved to see that the phony scores were able to be removed without resetting the entire ladder. Perhaps I'll look forward to putting together a group later this week and pushing for a new record.

I have very much enjoyed this challenge mission. Its a fun way to gain some gamer as I fail a Snowball! Ive also enjoyed finding good pugs to grind speed runs. It reminded me of the good-ish old days of AB. Wish it would be availible year round. Or at least something like it.

I thought that ecto prices might go down a bit because of the volume of people doing this mission combined with the skeleton farmers in UW. Instead, ectos are are 9.5k.
I opened the rate material trader to see 12k but upon requesting a quote it was 9.5. Still high though.
Bizarre.
